MIGRAINES

Oh, the dreaded migraine headache!  What a scourge on humanity.  It’s an ailment that afflicts the young all the way up to the old and has had a great impact on workplace productivity as well as caused all kinds of problems on the homefront.  In fact, the National Headache Foundation stated that up to $50 billion is lost by U.S. industries each year due to absenteeism, lost productivity, and medical expenses caused by migraines.

Migraine headaches are miserable and can cause severe throbbing pain or a pulsing sensation in the head. It’s often accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and extreme sensitivity to light and sound. Migraine attacks can last for hours to days, and the pain can be so severe that it interferes with your daily activities. I can attest to this. Thank God I have only had about four of these in my lifetime, but when I have had them I was completely debilitated and non-functional. They were so bad that I had to be in a dark room with my head under a pillow. It was awful.

Treatment for migraines ranges across the spectrum and includes the administration of medications, acupuncture, chiropractic adjustments, and the like. It’s a condition that we see fairly often in my office, however, we take a slightly different approach to treatment.

While it is not well known what triggers migraines, I would like to enlighten you on what we have clinically observed in our office concerning these triggers.  Most of the migraine cases that we see have already tried the aforementioned therapies with little success. This is where we employ Contact Reflex Analysis ( CRA Explained ). What we find, in the great majority of these cases, are issues in the area of the body that is known as the right upper quadrant of the abdomen (RUQ). The RUQ contains the liver, gall bladder, and bile duct. This is where the body handles and eliminates a lot of the toxins that our bodies produce. These particular organs have a tendency to become congested and toxic usually from eating junk-filled processed foods or from toxic chemical exposure. The body then begins to lose its ability to detoxify itself. These toxins then begin to re-circulate throughout the body which, in some people, will trigger a migraine episode. How do we know this?  It’s because when we begin to detoxify these patients, the headaches become less frequent and less severe to the point of total elimination in some. The kidneys are implicated at times as well. They too can become toxic and congested, spilling their toxins back into the system.

So let’s get into the methods that can be used to detoxify these organs thereby reducing the migraine trigger.  There are many detox programs on the market that can be used to detox livers, gallbladder, and kidneys.  In my opinion, based upon experience, these detox programs can be pretty harsh on the system. This leads to a higher rate of non-compliance leading to a poor treatment outcome.  I prefer a different approach.  I utilize a manual organ flushing technique where I gently massage the organ(s) in question.  Think of it like a sponge full of muddy water.  If you put gentle pressure on it, you would squeeze the muddy water out of the sponge.  In the case of an organ, as you flush out the toxins and then back off of the pressure, you allow good clean blood to re-enter and circulate in the organ thereby re-storing better organ function.  Then the organ can begin to remove the toxins that are triggering the headaches. I would caution you not to try this technique on your own.  This should only be done by someone that has had the proper training.

Now obviously we know there are potentially many other triggers that need to be investigated when assessing migraine headaches, however, once these other causes have been ruled out, organ congestion and toxicity should be considered.  In conclusion, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing a person, that has been devastated by this scourge, return to a normal productive life.
